Cooking School is the Newest Form of Therapy!

A short time ago, we spoke candidly with a repeat Seasoned Chef student.  We asked her, “What makes you want to return to The Seasoned Chef time and time again?”

We loved her answer!

She shared that, with all of the stresses going on around the globe right now, she regularly came back to The Seasoned Chef… because she would walk into class fatigued, stressed, and cranky, but walk out of class happy and confident.

This Seasoned Chef-loyal was onto something!

One scientific study recently found that baking classes boosted confidence and increased concentration for those involved in the study.  And if it’s scientifically proven that cooking and baking classes are therapy for the soul, then who are we to disagree?!

Don’t get us wrong - we absolutely don’t believe that cooking school can be a replacement for professional therapy. Trust us, we’re some of the biggest proponents of getting professional mental and emotional support. Though we are proud to be a place where people can come to feel grounded, supported, and filled with joy.

With this in mind, here are just a few of the ways that cooking school has been proven to be therapeutic.

HOW CAN COOKING CLASSES BE THERAPEUTIC?

YOU’RE SHARING THE EXPERIENCE WITH LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE
We love our students at The Seasoned Chef.  Each time they walk into a class, they’re excited, eager to learn, and committed to making great meals.

The best part is, with all students being committed to the same goal, our classes build a strong sense of community in no time at all.  Enjoying time with people that are like-minded and are all contributing to creating a delicious meal is a positive influence that will last long beyond the end of your cooking class.

YOU LEARN SOMETHING NEW
Cooking classes keep students mentally stimulated, but not overwhelmed.  As research has shown, learning new skills ultimately leads to lower cortisol levels, better immune function, and better sleep.

Add onto that that the lessons that you learn with The Seasoned Chef can immediately be applied to your daily life.  You’ll be mentally stimulated and be a better home cook because of it!

YOU GET TO ENJOY A NICE, RELAXING MULTI-COURSE MEAL
How often do you take yourself out to a delicious multi-course meal?  Even more, how often do you make a delicious multi-course meal for yourself to enjoy?

Within our cooking classes at The Seasoned Chef, we end our classes by enjoying the meal that we just all worked together to create… paired with a glass of complementary wine on the side, of course.

Relaxing with a great meal that you helped to create will boost your mood, boost your confidence, leave you feeling rewarded and accomplished, and will become a powerful relaxation technique that will improve your mental health for the long run.
