So You’re Thinking About Trying Out Our In-Person Classes Again?
Here’s what you need to know...


We know... COVID scares the shiitake mushrooms out of us, too.

If you’ve been coming around The Seasoned Chef for a while, you know that we’ve always taken our health and safety precautions very seriously, but we’ve taken it to another level throughout the past year+.  Not only did we close up shop and completely redesign our classes to be entirely virtual for a good portion of the year (shout out to our virtual instructors and staff!), but we’ve also entirely redesigned our in-person class format, too. We’re doing everything in our power to ensure that our classes are safe and germ-free, but still a lot of fun!

So if you’re starting to dip your toe into the idea of coming to an in-person cooking class again, then here are some of the safety precautions you’ll be able to spot in each class:

  • All staff and guests are required to wear masks in the building unless eating. Face shields are also available.

  • Temperature check & health questionnaire ASAP when you enter the building.

  • In case this is your first time out of the house this decade, we’ll update you on what is now deemed common courtesy… If you are experiencing any symptoms of illness, please stay home & do not enter the kitchen. Thank you.

  • All individuals will be asked to wear gloves while preparing food. Staff will be rocking this new trend, too.

  • We’ve rearranged the classroom to encourage social distancing. (Plus, everyone loves a good remodel. Come oooh and ahhh at our new floors and paint job!)

  • Hand sanitizer and soap/water will be readily available throughout the entire class.

Behind the scenes:

  • Everything is disinfected before, after, and during classes. EVERYTHING.

  • Our chefs have been adapting menus to minimize contact points.

  • Only one staff member will be serving food at the end of class.

  • An additional assistant has been assigned to each class focused only on increased sanitation protocols of high-traffic areas, including bathrooms & door handles.

  • To-go containers will be offered if you’d prefer to eat in the comfort of your own home.

We’re doing all we can to ensure a safe, educational, and FUN classroom. We’re happy to answer any questions and would happily take any suggestions you might have to help you feel comfortable stopping back into The Seasoned Chef.
